Bella Vista Historical Museum

WOODCARVING AND WOODBURNING DEMONSTRATIONS WERE HELD ON THURSDAY, JUNE 15th FROM 1:00 - 5:00 pm - Our club members held a carving demonstration in front of the Old Settlers' Cabin and also inside the Cooper Room of the Museum. Tables were set up and carvers demonstrated their skills by showing what they can create out of a block of wood.  Some of the carving styles included Intarsia carving, caricature, relief, carving in the round, chip carving and carved walking sticks.

Inside the museum two of our woodburners showed how they create their designs by woodburning images onto basswood.   The afternoon was also shared with the Southern Strings Mountain Music Group who played both inside and outside the museum.  It was a very festive and entertaining event.  Our thanks to the Bella Vista Historical Museum for hosting this event and giving our club the opportunity to "show our stuff"!  We welcome anyone interested in learning more about the art of carving and woodburning to attend one of our weekly carving meetings on Thursdays!

Southern Strings Mountain Music Group provided much entertainment!

Woodcarvers' Display Case at Bella Vista Historical Museum

Our Club donated this display case, built by a fellow carver Ron East, to the museum in August, 2022.  The displayed art pieces are rotated quarterly, so be sure to stop by the museum often.   Works of art range from woodburnings, to chip, relief and caricature carving, to intarsia, scroll art, songbird, wildfowl and wildlife carving, to name just a few. Visit the museum and come see our display case!
